A growing number of women – mostly Muslim – are getting ‘virginity repair’ operations before marriage, it has emerged.
About 116 hymen replacement operations were carried out on the NHS between 2005 and 2009.There were 30 NHS operations in 2009 – up 25 per cent from 24 in 2005, official figures show.
Private clinics are also reporting a surge in demand for the procedure which costs up to £4,000, especially among Muslim women.
Excuse me but I cannot see how replacing hymens is a good use of our money??
