Tony Blair

Tony Blair has denied striking a “covert” deal with George Bush to invade Iraq at a private meeting in 2002 at the US president’s ranch.

He told the Iraq inquiry there was no secret about what was said – that Saddam Hussein had to be dealt with and “the method of doing that is open”.

The former prime minister was also quizzed about the claim Saddam could launch weapons at 45 minutes’ notice.

He said “it would have been better” if headlines about it had been corrected.

Mr Blair has used the hearing to mount an impassioned defence of the decision to go to war, telling the panel: “This isn’t about a lie or a conspiracy or a deceit or a deception.

I don’t often feel the need to swear on here but this is all utter bollocks??

I suppose that I shouldn’t have held out any hopes of the Chilcott enquiry coming up with anything at all.
There was always zero chance that Tony Blair or anybody else in his employ would be found liable for anything that they had done.

It’s all a complete whitewash and Chilcott and his brethren should feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves but of course they won’t.

One Response to “Tony Blair”

  1. Tony Blair comments in his biography that if the Labour party veers any more towards the left it’ll never win another election. Isn’t there any ground left to grab in politics except the middle, to the ownership of which both parties aspire?
